Exaggerated Wood Grain

Artist Richard Woods is showing his latest collection of exaggerated wood grain paintings and imagery at the Alan Christea Gallery in London this month.  He is Painter, designer, sculptor, architect—the list of titles awarded to British artist Richard Woods is extensive and constantly overlapping. Titled “D.I.Y’ the exhibition features an installation purpose build for the venue of his sculptures, Woodblock inlays and paintings all centred on the wood grain and wooden boards theme.

This simple theme is applied with vivid colour to great effect to painted wood floors, hanging paintings and sculptures which are produced using traditional block-printing techniques and installed as parquetry. It looks so unique and stylish in the floor.
