What a weekend for the McKay Flooring team. On Sunday morning eight hardy souls set off from Hampden Stadium at the crack of dawn to take part in the annual Kiltwalk to Loch Lomond and we are pleased to say we have raised in excess of £2,200 for a selection of Scottish children’s charities – half of which goes to Yorkhill children’s Hospital, the McKay Flooring nominated charity. We are also delighted to announce that while Stephen, Paul, Suzanne, Seamus, Margaret Ann, Tina, Chris and Cat had successfully complete their mammoth 26 mile trek and retreated to the Roderick Dhu to tend to their blisters the news broke that our commander in chief, Richard McKay and his wife Miriam welcomed their second child Maria Catherine McKay into the world!
If all that wasn’t enough those that weren’t tucked up in bed early on Saturday night preparing to walk or those who spent a restless Saturday night nervously pacing the wards of the Southern General Hospital (and probably putting in a good 26 miles of their own) the rest of the McKay flooring crew could be found partying in Stewarton celebrating the twenty fifth wedding anniversary of our stalwart contracts director Stephen Fraser and his wife Alison.
We salute all the kilt walkers, wish Stephen and Alison a happy 25 more and extend a very warm welcome to the latest addition to the McKay Clan.
