Case Study - Wood Cottage, Glasgow September 2009
This handsawn rustic oak was selected by the client for it's knotty, grainy appearance and the handsawn, uneven edges on each board. There are a lot of different colours throughout each oak floorboard. The boards are 175mm wide x 21mm thick engineered (i.e. a 6mm oak veneer on a 15mm plywood backing). The boards have a factory applied matt lacquer finish. McKay Flooring installed this floor on a Thermonet underfloor heating system especially made for engineered flooring.
The handsawn oak looks great where finished against the existing stone wall. Our operatives scribed the floor to follow the shape of the stonework whilst allowing for suitable expansion. We fitted an oak skirting against the external perimeter wall. If you are interested in this product please contact us at enquiries@mckayflooring.co.uk
