Giant Reading Nest Made from Reclaimed Pallets!

Reclaimed Pallets
We’ve featured the many ways creative people have put reclaimed pallets to use on several occasions on this blog before but this ‘Reading Nest’ installed at Cleveland’s Library is possibly the most ambitious use of pallets we’ve seen to date.

Measuring 13-feet-tall and 36-feet-wide, the Reading Nest is built out of 10,000 reclaimed pallet boards and uses 40,000 nails to hold it all together. The walls are a mix of the timber boards reclaimed from shipping pallets and gold painted boards, while the  interior is completely covered in gold painted pallet boards to reference the griffin and their mythological gold nests. The sculpture is meant to symbolize growth, community, and knowledge.
