Completed in just 10 days ‘Phoenix’ is a handwoven bamboo car. The brainchild of Kenneth Cobonpue and product designer Albrecht Birkner this lightweight machine uses natural materials in an effort to introduce sustainable materials to the wasteful car industry. The car is completely handmade utilising the skills of traditional weavers and craftsmen involving an intricate weaving process to create the flowing design that wraps around the vehicle chassis. This car aims to offer an inexpensive and environmentally conscious alternative to the excessive waste problem associated with the disposal of spent vehicles.
