Constructed from Indian granite and concrete and incorporating over 18o,000 characters from the words of over 1,000 different comedians and comedy writers Blackpool’s Comedy Carpet is billed as one of Britain’s largest pieces of public art costing £2.6m. Five years in the making and covering over 2,200m2 the Comedy Carpet was installed in late 2011 in Blackpool’s historic beach front promenade.
